WHY I AM WEARING WHITE CLOTHING

WHY I AM COMMANDED TO WEAR WHITE

I received a commandment of the Lord, some time back in early 2023, to wear white while ministering, for a season.  So as He said, I obeyed.  At the time, I wasn’t sure why, but I had a hunch, nonetheless my job is to be obedient.  This is a small thing to ask, in my opinion. My prayer “calendar” was full, where I shared on other things, and hadn’t gotten a chance to get back to the Father as to why He’d have me wear white.

I’ve come to understand it is a prophetic picture of what the people of God will have as we translate into our eternal kingdom with Jesus in our glorified bodies.  In my prophetic training, I learned about how God used prophets to perform prophetic acts, to demonstrate how God does things, His current thoughts with the nation of Israel and so on.  Thus, I’ve come to realize He’s using me as a picture for you, as a reminder of what you’ll be wearing in the future.  He’s encouraging us to be OVERCOMERS, that we would eventually be with Him in white. We are so earth-bound and are constantly bombarded with worldly symbols, that we rarely get to see godly symbols.  Since we are to meditate on heavenly things, our citizenship being in heaven, this is simply a picture, a reminder of things to come.  Let Him say of us, “I will not blot out your name of the book of life and will confess your name before my Father”. (Rev. 3:5)

Examples of Prophetic Symbolism:

God used Ezekiel by having him lay on his side, cook excrement etc. Jeremiah was commanded to buy a linen girdle (Jer. 13), wear it and not wash it, then hide it in a rock.  He was also not to marry and Ezekiel not to mourn at his wifes’ death.(Eze. 24:15) Hosea to marry a prostitute, Isaiah to walk naked etc.

So, as you can see by these examples, the Lord does ask His servants to do certain things.  I gladly obliged, because one thing about me, I don’t like wasting precious time trying to figure out what I am going to wear, so the Lord kept it simple for me.

All in all, I believe not only does this represent our cleansing in Christ being covered by His righteousness, but I also believe it minimizes distraction.  It’s easy for us as women to have a lot of details that cause men/women to be distracted looking at us more than God sometimes.  According to the book I mentioned called, Developing The Prophetic Ministry by Frank Damazio, this is considered a symbolic act by a prophetess or prophet.  On page 19, he states “a symbolic act is when the prophet performs an action that represents a spiritual truth to the hearers”.  It is an illustration to make it easier for the people to receive.  Back in those days there were no televisions or radios to paint a picture, so the prophet or prophetess generally became the illustration.

  • Soiled garments were symbols of insufficient works
Revelation 3:4 NASB
But you do have a few people in Sardis who have not soiled their garments, and because they are worthy, they will walk with Me in white.
Revelation 3:5 NASB
The one who overcomes will be clothed the same way, in white garments; and I will not erase his name from the book of life, and I will confess his name before My Father and before His angels.

Nakedness- symbolized unbelief

Revelation 3:18 NASB
I advise you to buy from Me gold refined by fire so that you may become rich, and white garments so that you may clothe yourself and the shame of your nakedness will not be revealed; and eye salve to apply to your eyes so that you may see.

THE HEADCOVERING

I’m wearing a headcovering because of what the Word of God says in 1 Cor. 11, where it states a woman should have “power” on her head.  It states a woman should not pray or prophesy with her head uncovered. If so, she dishonors her head. At this time I am unmarried, and I am under God’s authority.  He is my covering and so I wish to honor Him. To be clear, this is not something He has commanded me to do, this is simply something I ought to do as my duty as a daughter of Father God.

1 Corinthians 11:4-10 KJV
4 Every man praying or prophesying, having his head covered, dishonoureth his head.
5 But every woman that prayeth or prophesieth with her head uncovered dishonoureth her head: for that is even all one as if she were shaven.
6 For if the woman be not covered, let her also be shorn: but if it be a shame for a woman to be shorn or shaven, let her be covered.
7 For a man indeed ought not to cover his head, forasmuch as he is the image and glory of God: but the woman is the glory of the man.
8 For the man is not of the woman: but the woman of the man.
9 Neither was the man created for the woman; but the woman for the man.
10 For this cause ought the woman to have power on her head because of the angels.

Berean Standard Bible
10 For this reason a woman ought to have a sign of authority on her head, because of the angels.

Power- exousia -G1849

Power- Ability, strength, power of authority, power to rule,

Ought- opheilo - G3784

Ought- to owe, the goodwill due, duty

In conclusion, I believe there is more to this and that I haven’t fully grasped the entire revelation at this time.  Sometimes the Lord reveals things as an “extended-release” tablet. Many times, there’s so much on our plates, both spiritually and naturally, and we need time to fully understand. I praise God for His grace to carry out His commands and pray it will be useful in times to come. I also pray I can continue in obedience to His word whether it is perceived as “easy” or “hard”.  Comment down below and share if you or you’ve known anyone else to walk with God in this way. I welcome your thoughts! God bless.

****Since there is so much controversy in the body of Christ today, I feel it necessary to write this statement of belief.

*I am not part of any cult churches or celestial churches. I do not believe in any special potions, chants or rituals. Only the blood of Jesus which Jesus' death on the cross saves us from our sins. Jesus death, burial and resurrection is enough! He paid the ultimate price. The only thing I believe in continuing is the blessed sacrament/communion, receiving the bread and wine representing the body and blood of Christ.

Titus 1:15  To the pure, all things are pure; but to those who are defiled and unbelieving, nothing is pure, but both their mind and their conscience are defiled.
